This trailer focused on cults and the humor that comes with obsessions, believing in something religiously, attempted ‘brainwashing’ etc. It satirised the notion of what building a community and promoting a Festival might be like. In this fantastical - what if - scenario, both actors and village residents from the hosting community of Xarkis Festival, were depicted as engaging in indigenous interactions and improvised forms of expression. Xarkis Festival in this trailer re-enacts elements of tradition in folkloristic and socially awkward ways, taking the meaning of ‘Xarkis=from the beginning’ a little bit too literally.
